Argus Alarms
Alarm Detection
Argus scans incoming readings for alarms conditions. Alarm
thresholds can be based on fixed values or the results
of a calculation and may be set for any channel of any
sensor. Watchdog alarms warn if no readings are received.
Plan View Alarms
Plan views show on-screen alarms by changing the color
of the data box. Since plan views are updated automatically,
the alarm appears as soon as the alarm condition is detected.
Alarms Table
Alarms also appear in the alarm table, which updates automatically.
Sound can be toggled on or
off.
Alarm Notifications
Argus sends out alarm notifications by email to selected
users. It limits the rate of emailing to 10 per minute
to avoid flooding user mail boxes with alarms. Emails can
be forwarded to text messaging services, pagers, fax machines,
and even voice messages, where such third-party services
are available.
Alarm Logging
Argus stores a record of all alarms and all alarm acknowledgements.
